Privacy Policy
GetReferral is built so that your job search stays on your own laptop. This page explains exactly what we keep, what we don't, and the choices you have.

The short version
- Your job search stays on your laptop. Jobs, the people you contact, messages, replies and settings are saved in a file on your computer, not on our servers.
- Our server keeps only your account: your email, a scrambled password, your sign-in sessions and your plan.
- We never see your logins to LinkedIn, Gmail or job sites. They stay in your own Chrome.
- We don't sell or share your data, and we don't show ads.

What stays on your laptop
The app runs on your computer and saves its work in a file there. This includes:
- Jobs it found and the ones you approved
- People at companies (names, job titles, public LinkedIn profile links, and work emails found for them)
- Messages and emails sent for you, and the replies
- Your settings, templates and resume
We cannot see or reach this file. In the app, Your data shows where it is and what is in it.
What our server keeps

The app also shares companies' public LinkedIn page addresses (for example, which LinkedIn page belongs to a company's website) with a directory every user's app can look up, so each app does not search for them again. This is public company information and is not linked to your account.
The app shows every call it makes to our server, with exactly what it sent, under Your data.
Payments
Payments are handled by our payment partner, Razorpay. We do not see or store your card, UPI or bank details. We keep a record of what you bought and when, as the law requires.
Services the app uses for you
The app works inside your own Chrome and accounts. When it does, those services handle your data under their own privacy policies:
- LinkedIn and job sites (Naukri, Instahyre, Wellfound, Hirist, Cutshort): to search jobs and send connection requests and messages from your account
- Gmail: to send referral emails from your address, using an app password you create
- Apollo and ContactOut, if you install them: to find work email addresses
Where your account data is kept
Our server runs on Render (in Singapore) and stores account data with MongoDB Atlas. Both keep data secure and encrypted in transit.
How long we keep it
We keep your account while you have one. When you delete your account, we delete it from our server straight away, except payment records, which Indian tax law requires us to keep for up to 8 years.
Your rights
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can:
- See the personal data we hold about you
- Correct it
- Delete your account and data (how to delete your account)
- Raise a complaint with us, and if it is not resolved, with the Data Protection Board of India

Children
GetReferral is for people looking for work and is not meant for anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top. If a change affects what we keep about you, we will tell you in the app or by email first.
